On 15 July, 1933, after taking off from the Floyd Bennet airport in New York, Lithuanian pilots Steponas Darius and Stasys Girenas crossed the Atlantic on a plane Bellanca CH-300 „Lituanica“. They made 6411 km in 37 hours. Near Soldin plane unfortunately crashed. There were 650 km left to the final destination – Kaunas. Powerplant - J-6 Wright 365 hp engine. Length – 8.5 m, wingspan – 15.2 m, height – 2.6 m. Weight empty/loaded 1.2 /  3.7 t. Cruise speed ~180 km/h.
